What are some familiar situations in which people based their actions or opinions on false information?

I have a class assignment where I need ideas of familiar situations in which people based their actions or opinions on false information. I would like some brainstorming ideas. There is more to my assignment, but if anyone has some good ideas, that would be great. I just can't think of anything at all to get me started on.What are some familiar situations in which people based their actions or opinions on false information?
The Iraq War. Bush thought Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction. What are some familiar situations in which people based their actions or opinions on false information?
Voting is one. Most people say voting is important, and it is, but they let it stop there. Informed voting is more important. Keeping track of what your political leaders are really doing and acting on this information is even more important. Our government is suppose to do what we want. But, without our voice, money, and support, they are left to do what they believe is right or what someone has convinced them to do.

Eating before you go to bed turns into fat. If you eat more than you burn, you will gain weight. If you don't exercise, the weight will not be muscle mass. If you starve yourself all day and eat just before you go to bed (let's say a 1500 calorie meal) you are going to lose weight. Most people have to have at least 2000 calories to maintain their weight.

These are just two I can think quickly. Wish you luck.
this should be a quite easy question for you you answer if you look at it from a political point of view

those in power base most of there actions on false info it is either because they are ignorant or trying to fool us thinking people are incredibly stupid...

take war for instance they went to ';free'; Iraqi from a dictatorship corrupt system and to free them they kill them

millions killed supposedly to save them from there government that killed thousands

even though their system is corrupt they didnt make it better, but much much worse

they said it was for terrorism to save our country

when really its for oil and for those in power to get money

for money they kill how selfish is that how much greed can a person have

and that is a great example on actions for false opinions

they went to war and killed to save people?

how incoherent is that?
Next Sunday, go to a local church. Any will do.

You're welcome.
A classic and your teacher will be impressed: is when people believe what they read in the newspaper or hear on TV News.

It's amazing how gullible people are.
