yes and it is regulated by the FDAIs it illegal to post false nutritional information on a food product?

Depends which country you're in.
Generally speaking, yes. In the USA and the UK, always. You are also required by law to supply all ingredients of the food on the lable.
One would hope so.
IN the US, YES, not sure of other countries
Yes. The FDA allows certain variations, i.e. a certain percentage of the stated nutritional content, etc, can be ';off,'; like if something is really 7.4g of protein and they say 7.5, they're not going to get in deep poo or anything, but intentionally mislabeling products is illegal.
