Is it illegal to knowingly provide false information for a birth certificate?

Don't those forms have some sort of ';Under penalty of perjury, I the undersigned swear and attest that....';?

Does any one know how I can find out if there has ever been a prosecution for providing false information on a birth certificate any where in the USA?Is it illegal to knowingly provide false information for a birth certificate?
When an attorney researches a case, he types in the key words on his search computer. After he reads all the case law, he decides whether or not to take the case.

Do you have an attorney friend? Ask him.

It sounds like you are conspiring to break the law. If you give birth to a child and name a person who is not the father as the father, you are committing fraud. Lying about an insignificant matter on a birth certificate merits a slap on the wrist. Committing fraud and libel is good for 5-10 in the slammer. Is it illegal to knowingly provide false information for a birth certificate?
Yes, it is against the law in the state of Michigan to knowingly provide false information on a birth certificate. You would need to contact your local county/state court house to find out if you have the same law regarding placing false information on a birth certificate.
Yes it is illegal! Call the passport office, they will be able to direct you to the appropriate offices with the correct answers!
