Here's an example. It's one of the headlines on BBC's website:
Topic: ';US Global dominance set to wane';
';US clout will weaken as China and India grow more powerful';
Stop denouncing America. China and India will NEVER become superpowers. America was, is, and always will be the best, period.Should BBC be banned for reporting false information?
I'm still wresting with their report that food prices are dropping when a lot of stuff in our shops is going up in leaps and bounds. So, although I don't know the answer about China, you may well be right. Should BBC be banned for reporting false information?
Sorry my US friend but the headline is true. The US economy is constricting whilst China marches on. It will be the second largest economy with 20 years. India will be in the top 4. Europe will also become closer and stronger and you will have 3 superpowers. The US, China and Europe. India and Russia will not be far behind.
This will be a good thing America has become unchecked over the last 10 years it ignores the UN, it is responsible for the Global credit crunch because it controls most of the money. It is the biggest polluter. I realise they are all its bad points and it does have plenty of good points but 350 million people cannot dictate who over 6 billion live
The US media is so heavily influenced by politics and big business, it is a nice change to have someone report the news as they see it.
Naturally, the BBC is biased in it's own way, but they are known to report things fairly accurately without using the AP as it's only source.
Yes, the US is a superpower, but don't think for a second that the US is the only big kid on the block. Japan? China? Russia? They are not just pesky up-and-comers - they are the ones that own most of the national debt of the US.
The media makes false reports all the time. Originally I liked BBC news, but that was more than a year ago. Just change the channel to a news station you prefer, luckily we live in countries where we can choose the news we prefer to watch instead of having it chosen for us.
Unfortunately, India and China will be the next superpowers unless we stop exporting our jobs over there. The past twenty years has been the greatest transfer of wealth from the US to China, it's time to wake up and realize we need to stop sending our money oversees.
America won't be the dominant world power for much longer. It has to learn that there are other players on the scene that one day in the not too distant future, will have more money, bigger and better equipped armies, with more arms. China already dominates the world economically, it sells more goods to the rest of the world than any other nation on the planet. I don't care for them, on matters of justice and imprisonment of dissenters, but nor indeed America if it continues with its policy of we know best democracy. George W is the reason much of the world is in a mess, with instability in the middle east and a west thats increasingly looking fragile. The knock on effect of the housing bust has come from the US, and you are in debt up to your eyeballs, to the saudi's, and others, so perhaps its time for Obama when he finally comes to office to start making peace and not war, to think that america as a super power has had its day in the sun.
You probably won't agree or like what i have to say, but there you are.
I think the BBC is merely stating facts. China and India are huge and growing on a daily basis. You are perfectly entitled to believe that America is the best, but I have to ask - the best at what? Again facts would indicate that things are not going too well on your side of the Atlantic! That is not to say that things on this side of the pond are any better, but which country started the economic downturn?
If we banned broadcasting networks for reporting false info, we'd have no more media. Unfortunately China and India are becoming much more powerful relative to US. Our physical infrastructure is failing, what we have left of an economy is rigamortis, just look at the currency situation:
http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/conver鈥?/a>
Plus China has been funded by capitolism for the last few decades, and them and their asian buddies (Russia, Japan, India) are all constructing new infrastructure, reconsolidating their currencies, and upgrading their military.
i dont agree with you that america is the best, not by a long shot. but with regard to the news you should take a lot of what you read with a pinch of salt, it is all gross exaggerations and half truths.
I think your wrong on the china not becoming a superpower front, they have enough man power to wipe us all out so be nice x
yes they will be superpowers so just deal with it. just because the Us wont be the only superpower if it remains one doesnt mean your country will stop achieving things. and as far as im concerned the bbc reports a lot more truth than the news outlet of your choice which im 100% sure is fox news. and by the way what theyre reporting isnt denouncing its stating opinion.
Someone isn't paying attention in History Class. In truth, America seems to be following a pattern similar to all previous major world empires.
In other words, we are nearing the end of our reign. And judging by the path we are taking and how our leaders are attempting to get out of it, I don't think its avoidable anymore.
They are making the exact same mistakes that Great Britain did, that Rome did, that Greece did, and so on down the line.
That story is in all the news feeds now. They didn't make it up, it's news, even if you'd rather it wasn't.
I'd be curious how you were planning on getting them banned, and from what. I think you can probably buy a filter for your computer so you can keep them out of your household.
The USA has dominated for so long. It's lonely out there, I say. It's about time somebody else share the burden. Since we cannot count on the Europeans, why not give India and China a try? Having said that, we are still going to be a big shot, just not the one and only. Cheers.
Considering the BBC is located in Great Britain, where the US has no jurisdiction, I don't think it will happen no matter how hard you try. Nor do I think it should. Only through criticism can we keep America honest. Sure other countries are much worse than the US, but they aren't claiming to be the best country ever.
YES, another example about a year ago the queen went mad when the BBC edited a video of a photo shoot she went for to make her out to be moaning and storming out of the shoot!
When in fact it was her just going into it lol
Awww !
What's the matter ? Have you suddenly realised 'Planet America' aint so powerful any more ? Don't forget - your time-zones (and those in the rest of the world) are set in relation to the time in Greenwich, ENGLAND !
I don't agree with your last statement and America being the best, sounds like a 2 year olds statement.
But i do agree that the BBC is anti-american.
You idiot.
BBC is reporting on a US Government report projecting what may happen in 25 years. See American sources below.
think you need to check your facts before you swallow another quart with your beef jerky
never knew trailers could get internet
What a delusional little mind you have
There is a saying that what goes up must come down. America has peaked, hold on tight.
you keep believing that if it will make you sleep good at night.
