Has Wikipedia ever given false or bias information?

My professor told me not to use it because anyone can change the info or put bias views. Has anyone here seen this on wikipedia? Also if you have anything interesting about how wrong it was or bias, because I haven't seen any yet.Has Wikipedia ever given false or bias information?
Of course Wikipedia is prone to error, often malicious error, and other times simply bone-headed editing and reverting over a point that is simply not clearly known. I'm going to give you three examples that have been detailed, regarding the articles about the U.S. senators, about Abraham Lincoln, and about the founder of Little Caesars Pizza and owner of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.

There has been a lot of times when I see some articles vandalized, but these are usually fixed within a few hours.

Your professor is correct that some of the articles may be biased in favor of the views of the writer. But this is probably the case with any article.
Wikipedia used to say that Obama was born in Kenya. He was actually born in Hawaii.





Some research classes will do an experiment, the teacher will tell the students to go to Wikipedia and change something. Anything no matter of the accuracy of what they enter. Then they will show that as an example of why not to use Wikipedia for a reference.





Your professor is correct. Use the Encyclopedia Britanica instead. All info in there is fact checked before it is entered.
